The Lifelines Supper Clubs are in-person, informal dinner events that will occur across the US over the course of the Lifelines program. Invites will be sent to a diverse group of individuals engaged across the humanitarian, government, funding/decision maker sectors. All will share a common interest in championing Earth science. The clubs will serve as a Lifelines microcosm, facilitating community building and discussion around common themes. Club dates and locations will be located around other Lifelines events and activities.
The Lifelines Ready for Impact program is a pitch competition for humanitarian-earth science teams looking to scale proven innovations. The judges panel will consist of experts from the primary funding organizations who will invite and judge candidate teams. The Ready for Impact competition will occur twice (once in 2024, and once in 2026) with pitches taking place virtually and in-person at the SatSummit conference.
The Lifelines Impact Embassy is a roadshow to broadcast the value of Earth science, bring new experts into our community, and offer meaningful ways to engage. With both in-person and virtual tour stops, the Lifelines Impact Embassy will tour universities, humanitarian organizations, research institutes, professional associations, philanthropies, global and local innovation groups, and more.

Our Humanitarian Simulations are global competitions that will take place in both 2024 and 2026 with a theme sponsored by one of our Humanitarian Wayfinders. Teams will compete to find new and innovative solutions to humanitarian challenges with a focus on how earth science and technology can be leveraged to improve humanitarian efforts. Themes for the simulations will be chosen by our Wayfinders, but illustrative examples include a “where’s waldo: a search and rescue mission” or “food drop from space: a supply chain mission.” Winners will be invited to pitch at Ready for Impact with a Wayfinder endorsement.
The NASA Lifelines Scientist Speed Dating is an incubator program that brings Earth Scientists and other scientific experts together to engage in interdisciplinary projects that address humanitarian challenges. With a structured matchmaking process, the program will foster collaborations that give way to creative solutions that address urgent global issues through the use and application of geospatial tools and Earth and social science methods. Opportunities for grant funding will be provided by our co-funding partners to support these research initiatives that are commonly overlooked in the traditional grant process.
